The One…

couples with heart

You know very well, who you are, you’re the only one, you have my heart… And I don’t need no one baby, without you I’m incomplete, our love is just like the bar, put it all in me…
It’s so amazing when two people decide to commit themselves to eachother… Love & Relationship is such a GOD-TRAIT… Over the last couple of months I’ve had so many marriage invitations, people are welcoming babies to their families and I’m really enjoying all this LOVE. It’s amazing how you feel when someone decides to take care if you, they have your best interests at heart, they want you well, healthy, you become their PRIORITY, it’s a beautiful feeling and we all DESERVE it!!! That’s what we here for, why it’s such a welcomed feeling and one we all, whether we acknowledge it or not, CRAVE for… There’s nothing wrong with being loved, it’s built in us. God loved us first, He showed us how to love and it’s innate that we keep on loving!!! I believe everyone will feel complete, feel like they have a purpose once they discover what it is to give and receive love.
But I believe that now, the reason relationships are going wrong, and why there’s so much anxiety surrounding love is because people are scared of being in that VULNERABLE state. Check this situation out, you’re a female and you’ve been approached by someone you see round the way in a regular basis, this guy is now telling you how he’s been watching you for a while, really likes what your about and wants to get to know you… Most ladies may find this a bit creepy, but this guy is really being genuine and wants to do just that – get to know you… This day in age it’s quite rare for a guy to approach a girl in this manner, in my personal experience guys feel they are doing ladies a favor by being with them, they MISTREAT ladies and take total advantage by playing into their EMOTIONS, because of this some ladies become closed and put up a guard which makes it harder for the next guy to really get to know them, which is a shame because that next guy could possibly hold all the traits she is looking for. Because of the ex, the lady is now in a fear state seeing all GUYS as the same and therefore not allowing herself to be vulnerable. Ladies I’m sure we’re all familiar with the saying ‘you have to kiss a few frogs before you find your prince..’ – We need to understand that every experience and relationship we go through is an opportunity to learn about ourselves and ESTABLISH what we will and will not tolerate. They are opportunities to feather out what you really want in a partner and how we want them to make us feel, there’s no point going into a situation blindsided and without experience or purpose, you’ll set yourself up for failure and DISAPPOINTMENT. I have to admit, I’ve been victim of this so many times, but now I know exactly what I want and because I’ve made myself immune to the BS I can recognise the good stuff when I see it.
Also this fear of love and fear if vulnerability can come from never experiencing LOVE. You know they say that your childhood stays with you forever, whatever you learn, see and experience as a child molds you and haunts you in your adult life. Sometimes our feelings and a PERCEPTION about certain things derives from what we’ve been exposed to as children and this can become hard to shake because they become EMBEDDED in us. If these are negative associations, lets allow our adult experiences and opportunities to teach us that we may be seeing it all WRONG. This can CHANGE, ideas can CHANGE and how we feel towards live and anything else for that matter can CHANGE.
So today, I want to ENCOURAGE ladies and GENTLEMEN to stay open-minded in all relationships, once you know what you’re looking for it will not be hard for you to FIND it. Understand that every EXPERIENCE you go through is a LEARNING CURVE and really take from it an understanding of SELF! Everyone deserves LOVE, whether you are giving it or receiving it, give someone the opportunity to get to know you for who you are, the things you think LEAST about yourself will be the things that make you AMAZING to somebody else.

I Know Your Secret…

So… A while back some mates of mine told me about a book which called THE SECRET… I understood it to be very popular and from what I had seen online there was also a film based on it. So I picked up the book and read I within a few days. The book FOCUS’ on our attitude towards the world and how we perceive ourselves, it’s main purpose is to teach us to understand that our world and what we go through in life is DETERMINED my our MINDS and our THOUGHTS… ‘You have to speak you life into existence’… The author stated that whatever we want to BE, whatever we want to ACHIEVE, our EXPERIENCES or want to PRODUCE, we have to physically say it, believe and live our life as if you already have it. While hoping for OURSELVES you should spread love in all ways possible, no matter how big or how small the gesture, in all you do do with love, unselfishness and with a GRATEFUL heart. I think that’s deep!

Deep because I’m a CHRISTIAN, I believe in God, I believe GOD IS LOVE. Reading the book I noticed so many similarities between The Secret and the principles I read about in my Bible. Change your thoughts and change your world – RENEW YOUR MIND. The Bible tells us that we are made in God’s image and that we must have faith in all we do, this starts with the way we think about ourselves. As individuals we need to understand that we are CAPABLE of it all, whatever you can dream, you can achieve… Your dream along with a little bit of faith and belief is incomprehensible…

The Secret also spoke about vocalising and COMMUNICATING to the universe the things you want out of life. I believe that the universe represents God, but this can vary depending on your personal beliefs. As a Christian I communicate to God through PRAYER, I let Him know my thoughts and feelings, my dreams and ASPIRATIONS, this conversation is done through out the day and as a say the words I believe that they will come to pass…

God is Love! That’s MAJOR! The Secret spoke about spreading love in all ways possible, this starts with your attitude, loving yourself REFLECTS on how you treat others. The Bible teaches us to love our neighbours and in all things we do we should go with love. The same principle was reflected in The Secret, it’s amazing how science has proven what God has been teaching us all this TIME. And the surprising thing is, is that both elements agree on the most basic principles, methods which are FREE to us all and need no teaching; WE just simply need to understand what you want out if this life, ASK for it and BELIEVE we will RECIEVE it.

It’s Never Too Late To Say…

New Year, New Opportunities, New Blessings… SAME GOD!

Twelve Ways To Be Humble – Part 2

Purposely Associate With People Of Lower State Than You (Luke 7:36-39)
Jesus was derided by the Pharisees for socialising with the poor and those of lowly state. Our culture is very status conscious and people naturally want to socialise upward. Resist the temptation of being partial to those with status or wealth.

Choose To Serve Others (Philippians 1:1-2, Corinthians 4:5, Matthew 23:11)
When we serve others, we are serving God’s purposes in their lives. Doing so reduces our focus on ourselves and builds the Kingdom of God instead of the Kingdom of self. When serving another costs us nothing, we should question whether or not it is really servanthood.

Be Quick To Forgive (Matthew 18:21-35)
Forgiveness is possibly one of the greatest acts of humility we can do. To forgive is to acknowledge a wrong that has been done to us and also to further release our right of repayment for the wrong. Forgiveness is denial of self. Forgiveness is not insisting on our way and our justice.

Cultivate A Grateful Heart (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
The  more we develop an attitude of gratitude for the gift of salvation and the life He has given us, the more true our perspective of self. A grateful heart is a humble heart.

Purpose To Speak Well Of Others (Ephesians 4:31-32)
Saying negative things about others puts them ‘one down’ and us ‘one up’… a form of pride. Speaking well of others edifies them and builds them up instead of us. Make sure, however, that what you say is not intended as flattery.

Treat Pride As A Condition That Always Necessities Embracing The Cross (Luke 9:23)
It is our nature to be proud and it is God’s nature in us that brings humility. Committing to a lifestyle of daily dying to self and living through Him is the foundation for true humility.

I hope these ways have enlightened you. Sometimes we have to come besides ourselves to really understand and develop ourselves, someone once shared this WISDOM with me, and I am happy you be sharing it with you.

Stay Blessed

A conversation with a friend about HUMILITY to some extent saved my life. It was back in final year uni and to be honest I cant remember how the topic came about, all I know is that I said something which he was not too pleased with and he asked me, ‘do you know what humility is?‘, and silly me says ‘humidity…‘ LMAO…  Anyway, he explained the concept to me, and gave me this…

Twelve Ways To Be Humble – Part 1

Routinely Confess Your Sins To God (Luke 18:9-14)
All of us sin and fall short of the glory of God. However, too few of us have a routine practice of rigorous self-honesty examination. Weekly, even daily, review of your heart and behaviour, coupled with confession with God, is an essential practice of humility.

Acknowledge Your Sin To Others (James 3:2, James 5:16)
Humility before God is not complete unless there is also humility before men. A true test of our willingness to humble ourselves is being willing to share with others the weaknesses we share with God. Wisdom, however, dictates that we do so with others we trust.

Take Wrong Patiently (1 Peter 3:8-17)
This can be difficult. When something is unjust you would want to react and rectify it. However patiently responding to the unjust accusations and actions of others demonstrates our strength of godly character and provides opportunity to put on humility.

Actively Submit To Authority… The Good And The Bad (1 Peter 2:18)
Our culture does not value submission; rather it promotes individualism. How purposely and actively do you work on submission to those whom God has placed as authorities in your life? Doing so is a good way to humble yourself.

Receive Correction And Feedback From Others Graciously (Proverbs 10:17, 12:1)
A pastor was noted for graciously recieving any negative feedback or correction offered. He would simply say ‘thank you for caring enough to share that with me, I will pray about it and get back to you.’ Look for the kernel truth in what people offer you, even if it comes from a dubious source. Always pray, ‘Lord, what are you trying to show me through this?’

Accept A Lowly Place (Proverbs 25:6, 7)
If you find yourself wanting to sit at the head table, wanting others to recognise your contribution or become offended when others are honoured or chosen, then pride is present. Purpose to support others being recognised, rather than you. Accept and look for the lowly place; it is a place of humility.

This is the first part, check in tomorrow for the other six ways to humble yourself

Mid-Week Workout…

I thought to give you guys a break from your weekly workout so you can fully recover from the Bank HOLIDAY. I must say last week went by really quickly and to top of the week I had the opportunity to experience one of the best live shows of my life with the likes of Faith Child, Brewer, Jacy Mai, Lanre Sulola, Potent Vybez and an unexpected cameo by Barney plus many more. In case you haven’t guessed it already, I’m talking about the I.M.P.A.C.T. Youth Presents ‘Da Way Out’ concert, it was AMAZING – God was definitely in the BUILDING..!!!

One artist which really stood out to me that evening was BREWER. I know who he is and all that, but in the past I was a bit RELUCTANT to hear his music cos I really couldn’t understand his MESSAGE, but I must say, after that evening, I definitely OVERSTAND his message now, LOL. I remember on our way home,  myself and a couple of my mates had a converstaion about ‘CHRISTIANITY’ as they call it and how easy it is to fall into stereotypical roles and proceedures, such as how we pray, how we dress and how we communicate with eachother. After going back and forth, my good friend P.Hoshi made a statement that really hit home, he said (I’m paraphrasing)  ‘as Christians, if we say we believe in God, why do we feel we have to pray the loudest and longest to be heard by Him, in His word it clearly lets us know that God resides in us, so why do we feel we have to exaggerate our actions in order to present ourselves as worthy?‘ – That is POWERFUL… – Mate, it just put everything into contrast and it kind of brought me back to Brewer cos when I was first introduced to him, he didn’t seem like your typical ‘GOSPEL’ artist that I was used to, I PREJUDGED him because he was not coming forth with what I was used to seeing, and after hearing his live set at the show, I was totally TRANSFORMED with what he had to say, how he presented himself and the energy he brought to the stage. It was evident that he was in fact a person walking in GRACE. He did not conform to the usual stereotypical image and lyrical content in his music, like, I can’t recall him quoting scripture, or putting FATHER, SON, HOLY SPIRIT in every line, he just presented HIMSELF, spoke his TRUTH and what was in his HEART and that is what won me over. That then got me to thinking of what GOD requires from us, all He wants is for us to be OURSELVES cos the word says that we are all FEARFULLY & WONDERFULLY MADE, God doesn’t care how you look, what you say or how you say it, what matters is what is in your HEART and what you BELIEVE.

So for this weeks workout song, I chose Brewer – Kindle, its taken from his new mixtape ‘Alone With My Thoughts’, which can be downloaded at This song samples the tune from that KINDLE advert on TV so you know it was a definitely FLOOR FILLER, but the words also say a lot, he talks about being yourself and not being deceived by what others do or what they have, be yourself and don’t be ashamed of it… – “you think money will solve all your problems, like millionaires haven’t got them“.
