Moving Forward…

“Of course we would not dare classify ourselves or compare ourselves to those who rate themselves highly. How stupid they are They make up their own standards to measure themselves by, and judge themselves by their own standards.”– 2 Corinthians 10:12

There are two things that cause doubt in our lives. The first is comparing our abilities to others. When you compare your abilities to others you begin to doubt your abilities. Instead of looking to God, you start looking at everybody else. You think these other people are more talented, they’re more able, more educated and more experienced. The moment to start comparing yourself to them, you’re going to be filled with self-doubt. The Bible says, “it is stupid to compare yourself to other people”. God doesn’t want you comparing yourself to anybody else. He created you to be unique. He wants you to be you.

The second is remembering your past failures. Remembering your past is like putting a movie in your mind of all your mistakes and playing it over and over again. It tortures you to death and causes you to doubt your abilities. God doesn’t want you focusing on your past, if you stay here, you won’t be able to get on with your present, and He can not use you in the future.  Forget about your past.

This post reminds me of what I read this morning from the Word for U Today message, even though its not the same topic but it still relates. Instead of comparing ourselves to others & doubting ourselves, we should seek to find out how we can learn from that person and also find ways of being a blessing to each other and encouraging each other to achieve our best & use the talents that God has blessed us with. Good Piece, Keep them coming!
